 🎃 Your family is invited to celebrate the season with a Pumpkin Decorating Kit! Beginning October 5, the library will provide a free pumpkin and decorating supplies for families to take home and create together.
👨👦👧 This project is made possible through funding provided by the Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families (CCFF) and the Hart County Public Library. The activity is designed to support positive father-child engagement and strengthen family connections through time spent creating together. Fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, uncles, and other positive male role models are especially encouraged to take part with the children in their lives, while all families are welcome to participate. ⏳ Pumpkins and decorating supplies may be picked up at the Hart County Public Library through October 13, or while supplies last. 📷 Once your pumpkin is decorated, we would love to see it! Participants are encouraged to send us a photo of their finished pumpkin or a picture of the family creating it together. October 10th 10:00 AM at the library: Jody Godshall of Hippie Chick Roots will teach how and what to plant this fall for early spring flowering. This class is free and open to all. November 14th 10:00 AM at the library: Master Gardener Gary Puckett will teach the best methods for fall pruning and propagating in order to be ready for winter. This class is free and open to all. December 11th 10:00 AM: Instructor Scott Baird will show participants how to create a Christmas wreath using dried natural materials. Some materials and supplies will be provided, but please bring a pair of hand clippers and additional materials if possible. This class is limited to 8 people and will not be held at the library. This event is for dads/male role models and their children. We love our moms, too, but this time they can cheer us on from home. This event is funded through a grant that the Hart County Public Library received from the Commonwealth Center for Fathers and Families. Friday, September 11th at 3:30pm, meet historical reenactor Larry Elliott as Abraham Lincoln, who will present “The Story of Abraham Lincoln: From Birth to Ford’s Theatre.” This free event is perfect for all ages!   American Cave Conservation Association announces the receipt of a grant award from the USDA’s Division of Forestry to plant trees in Horse Cave and Munfordville, hire foresters, and increase public awareness of the benefits of urban forestry.

Meet Your Forester: Thursday, September 24 5:30 - 6:30 pm Celebrate the beginning of the planting with James Baunch, who will discuss the advantages of native trees, give advice for eliminating invasive plants, and respond to community members’ tree-related questions. Horticultural Classes: Saturday, October 10 & Saturday, November 14 10:00 - 11:00 am Master Gardener Gary Puckett will teach classes designed to help community members with their personal gardening issues and demonstrate helpful techniques.
