Dive into the magical world of books on your own schedule. The program is designed for ages 4-13 who love to read and explore new stories. Whether you enjoy chapter books or picture books, here’s how you can participate: Independent Readers / Chapter books: Aim for at least 2 hours of reading each week for five weeks (10 hours total). Record your titles on your reading log. Younger Readers / Picture books: Try to read or listen to at least 25 books. Note each in your reading log. Complete your log and return it at our last live event for a special reward and to be eligible for our grand prize drawing! We are excited to welcome our special guest programmers! June 20 Animal Tales, LLC June 27 Bright Star Touring Theatre July 11 Dinky Gowen July 18 Silly Safari Shows Inc. These live events are open to all and will be held in the library’s community room on Friday's at 10 am central time. To ensure a pleasant experience for everyone, we kindly request that children adhere to library rules during these events. Parents are encouraged to step out of the room with any restless little ones. Photos will be taken during the live events to share on our social media. If you prefer not to have your child’s photo taken, please speak to a library staff member. Congratulations to the winners of our county-wide Bookmark Design Contest! This contest was hosted by Hart County Public Library outreach, and was open to all 2nd through 6th grade students in Hart County, including homeschoolers. This year's theme was "A Tree is Nice." Expecting Families and Caregivers of Infants, join us at the library for an informative event for expecting families and parents with children up to one year old. Sponsored by the Hart County Family Resource and Youth Services Center (FRYSC), this event will feature informational booths on early childhood literacy, pediatric CPR, and car seat safety. All parents will receive a diaper bag filled with supplies! Come connect with other families, gather valuable information, and celebrate the journey of parenthood.
